The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die (2023)

Although it is mostly historically accurate for me it’s good enough because it gets people interested in this end of the dark ages history when humans were coming out of a terrible place. The series had one of the greatest heroes and warriors ever written, Uhtred. I believe he represents by many men who the king was protected by and who had sworn oarh to the king and the kingdom.m, Dane and Christian. It gets people interested in just how bad things have been in the past and bad things can be again, bloodlust is not a new thing when it comes to leaders 2 willing to spill you mens blood for their own selfish, diluted reasons, especially when it comes to reclaiming or claiming territory some leaders feel they have a right to, whether that be because the land once belonged to their country or them or because God told them it does or should. And just like the show Chernobyl the one character who represents the many really is the right way to do it in a show like this especially with an actor as hard-working and dedicated as the man who played Uhtred. I just can’t say enough about this series, it’s dedication to the storyline remaining mostly true to history is a testament to those who made it because it would be much easier and perhaps sell better if there were dragons and magic. This series is showing us the futility of man and how short a time we all are here even a king’s legacy doesn’t last and is eventually forgotten, and the people in it. I wondered after Alfred died how the series could really go on because he was such a powerful character, a smart man a man with four sight in a time of unthinking cruelty and bloodlust for riches and power. A king who in many ways didn’t like what you trade was and only used him for his skill at killing and until the end really had no respect for him or his family or his life because he was a pagan and a killer and in the first few seasons a knee-jerk reaction person who was almost more trouble than he was worth. I don’t think Alfred his character didn’t get enough credit you’re the rest of his family but specially Alfred for building this series into what it became, and then uterine and his three men, just a brilliant series huge credit to Netflix for sticking with it and finishing it properly.
