The Princess (2022)

The action movie ‘Princess’ could be called ‘The Raid’ or ‘Die Hard’ for girls about a cute young lady who chops up bad guys while skillfully hiding in the hidden tunnels of a huge palace. Almost all of the events of the film take place in the castle. The heroine is making her way floor by floor through a crowd of clumsy knights and smelly mercenaries with filthy teeth to rescue her parents, who have been captured by the evil prince.

The action scenes are done at an average level, as you can see with the naked eye that the actress is far from skilled in hand-to-hand combat and swordsmanship, but she clearly tries. The fights are sympathetic at first, but soon the monotonous style of confrontation begins to tire, so the second half of the film is watchable with a crunch. The role of the whip-wielding villain is played by Olga Kurylenko.

In general, the movie is not for compulsory viewing, but it will do for fans of an uncomplicated action film to pass the boring evening. Besides, the idea of the movie is quite interesting, but there is more of a question of its realization. The film clearly lacks more money and trademark toughness for a full-blown, teeth-grinding spectacle in the vein of ‘John Wick’.
